The role

Software Procurement Consultant
contract type: full-time 

location: Bucharest, Romania | working model: hybrid (office approx. 1 per week)

As a Software Procurement Consultant, you'll play a key role in advising clients on strategic software sourcing. You'll work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure that every procurement decision supports business needs, budgets, and long-term goals. Your expertise in software licensing, negotiation, and vendor management will drive efficient, cost-effective procurement processes and sustainable partnerships.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify software requirements that align with business strategies.
• Evaluate and recommend software vendors based on offerings, reputation, and overall value.
• Advise on licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription) and recommend the most suitable agreements.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses to identify savings and maximize value.
• Negotiate favorable terms with software vendors, including pricing, conditions, and renewals.
• Oversee contract lifecycles to ensure compliance and manage renewals or amendments.
• Act as a liaison between clients and vendors to optimize performance and resolve challenges.
• Stay informed about market trends and emerging technologies to provide relevant, data-driven recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline software costs through license optimization and consolidation.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and communications.
• Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by leadership.

What we need to see from you

• 2–5 years of experience in IT consulting, software sales, or software license sourcing.
• Proven background in software procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
• Strong understanding of software licensing models, procurement processes, and supplier ecosystems.
• Familiarity with software asset management and contract terminology.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Analytical mindset with curiosity for problem-solving and value optimization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement or contract management tools.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, CPCM) are an advantage.
