The Role
As a
DevOps Tech Lead
at Alchemy, you'll lead a team of engineers responsible for building and scaling one of the most sophisticated, high-throughput infrastructures in the blockchain world. You'll focus on
architecting, automating, and optimizing systems
that power millions of global users, ensuring
high availability, performance, and security
. Beyond the technical leadership, you'll also
grow and mentor the team
, shape best practices, and drive a culture of operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure design, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Architect and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS)
  • Drive the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks
  • Develop and enforce best practices for observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response
  • Partner closely with backend, security, and product engineering teams to ensure smooth, reliable service delivery
  • Lead technical design discussions, post-mortems, and architecture reviews with a focus on scalability, reliability, and developer velocity Identify and proactively address performance bottlenecks, cost inefficiencies, and system vulnerabilities
  • Eventually (6 mos-12 mos in the role) lead and mentor a high-performing DevOps team, fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence Balance hands-on contributions with technical leadership and people management

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms, bare metal and distributed systems
  • Proven experience building, scaling, and maintaining production infrastructure at high throughput and low latency
  • Hands-on proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.)
  • Strong background in automation, scripting, and tooling (Python, Go, or similar)
  • Excellent ability to diagnose and resolve complex system, scaling, or performance issues
  • Interest in leading high-performing teams, including hiring, coaching, and mentoring engineers
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to balance technical depth, team leadership, and strategic impact
  • Experience in Web3 or high-growth startups, a plus
  • Entrepreneurial appetite (founded a company, drove internal company projects or built side projects), a plus
