Our client is a leading payment system company specializing in designing and building real-time, account-based payment infrastructures, applications, and services. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced QA Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in manual testing and solid experience in test automation, particularly with Playwright. In the initial phase, you will focus primarily on manual testing, with a clear target to automate up to 70-80% of test cases over time. You will follow a defined test strategy and an existing blueprint for Playwright test automation, ensuring consistent quality standards across the project.

What you'll be doing

• Perform manual testing to validate application functionality, usability, and stability.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, based on existing blueprints and standards.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
• Execute both manual and automated test cases and accurately report issues and bugs.
• Ensure adherence to a predefined test strategy and Playwright test automation blueprint.
• Perform regression testing and continuously assess test coverage and quality gaps.
• Optimize and maintain the automated testing framework to improve stability and efficiency.
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Communicate clearly in English with team members and stakeholders, both written and verbally.
• Provide detailed and structured feedback, without the need for test management tools like TestRail.
• Work independently, manage priorities, and stay aligned with delivery goals.

What you'll bring along

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum 5-10 years of professional experience in software testing.
• 3+ years of experience in test automation, ideally with Playwright, but experience with Cypress or Selenium is also valued.
• Strong manual testing skills, especially in early-stage testing environments.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and quality assurance best practices.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to follow an existing test strategy and automation blueprint with discipline.
• A proactive, self-driven attitude and ability to balance manual and automated testing responsibilities effectively.
• Experience with Selenium or Cypress in addition to Playwright.
• Knowledge of performance or security testing.
• ISTQB or similar testing certification is a plus.
