Jr. Systems Administrator

Laitek Medical Software, part of Enlitic company, market leader in RAPID PACS data migration, is looking to extend its team.

We are seeking a passionate Junior System Administrator to join our team in Cluj-Napoca. The ideal candidate is eager to learn new (proprietary) tools and has networking fundamentals and configuration skills.

**PLEASE NOTE**:
While in-office requirements are flexible, periodic meetings will happen face-to-face. For this reason, we prefer applicants to live in the Cluj-Napoca area.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology (IT)/Computer Science (CS)/Information Systems (IS) or equivalent IT networking certifications.

Core Skills
:

• Basic administration of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems, including user management, group policies, and permissions.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and basic troubleshooting (ping, traceroute, nslookup).
• Awareness of security best practices (patching, password policies, least-privilege, firewalls, MFA).

Automation & Scripting:

• Ability to write and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine system administration tasks (user creation, system checks, log management).
• Basic experience with DOS/Batch scripting ) for automating file operations and scheduled tasks.

System & Infrastructure Knowledge
:

• Understanding of server hardware components, storage devices, and RAID concepts.
• Basic experience with system monitoring tools and log analysis to identify and resolve performance or availability issues.
• Experience with the following tools is a plus: Total Commander, Wireshark, Nagios, Remote Desktop Services (RDP), PostgreSQL, pgAdmin
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Install and Configure Laitek software.
• Perform Laitek software upgrades and patching according to procedures.
• Configure, maintain and monitor backups.
• Configure and monitor Nagios alerts for all migration servers.
• Ensure proper functioning of the LAITEK software (identify storage issues, CPU/RAM issues, etc.).
• Set up access to source storage.
• Execute network performance tests.
• Perform Wireshark captures to troubleshoot DICOM connectivity issues or extraction/migration slowness.
• Investigate and troubleshoot system or network incidents to identify root causes and implement effective solutions, going beyond monitoring to actively resolve issues.
• Prepare the migration server/VM for decommissioning once migration is completed.
• Document work using LAITEK's documentation system.
• Other duties as needs arise
