IT audit team plays a critical role in helping the bank strengthen digital resilience, stay ahead of regulation, and protect our clients' trust.

We are now looking for a highly skilled
Senior IT Auditor
to join our Bucharest office to help shape group-level IT audit engagements across borders, technologies, and regulations.

Your mission

As
Senior IT Auditor
, you will provide independent assurance on how Nexent Bank manages ICT and cyber risks and directly contribute to the bank's digital operational resilience.

As key responsibilities you will:

• Co-plan, co-lead, and report on risk-based IT audits, covering ICT governance, ICT risk management, IT general controls, IT application controls, ICT third-party arrangements, cybersecurity controls, operational resilience, etc.
• Perform audits aligned with EBA guidelines, and other applicable EU and national regulations such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business and IT in multiple jurisdictions, applying internal audit methodology aligned with IIA IPPF / GIAS.
• Draft clear, insightful, and actionable audit reports for senior management and Audit & Risk Committee.
• Contribute to shaping the annual IT audit plan and to the continuous improvement of the audit methodology, tools and practices.
• Occasionally travel (5-10% annually) as required.

Job requirements and qualifications you bring:

Must-have

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in IT, computer science, engineering, or related field.
• CISA certification.
• 5+ years of professional experience in IT audit, IT risk management, or IT assurance (preferably in financial services or leading consultancy firms).
• Solid understanding of ICT risk, security, and resilience regulations.
• Strong knowledge of ITGCs, ITACs, cybersecurity, data governance, and third-party risk management.
• Technical knowledge of network design and infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with senior- and operational-level stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform operational audit tasks accurately.
• Adaptability to multicultural teams and cross-border settings, collaborating effectively and working independently as needed.
• Experienced in MS 365/Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Nice-to-have

• Demonstrable experience in auditing SWIFT CSP, PCI DSS, credit card and digital banking operations, cloud services, and ICT third-party arrangements.
• Advanced degree (e.g., MSc) in an IT-related field.
• Familiarity with IT risk/security frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST CSF).
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
• Skills with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI) and other tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Fluency in Romanian and/or Turkish is considered an advantage.
