We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior IT Engineer Business Intelligence (DWH &  Reporting) for designing, developing, optimizing, documenting and testing BI solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security and performance of our Business Intelligence environment, while also contributing to its ongoing development, automation and optimization, with a strong focus on Microsoft BI technologies (On-Prem and Azure). Your main tasks will  include data modeling, ETL-Process development, data visualization, report development and BI environment support (e.g. ticket handling).

As Senior IT Engineer Business Intelligence, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and  play a key role in the progression of our customer report and internal dashboard portfolio. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in the stability and scalability of our BI environment,  ensuring they align with our business goals.

• Application management of our Business Intelligence tool landscape (MS SQL Server,  MS Integration Services, MS Analysis Services, MS Power BI, MS Reporting Services and SAP BO Crystal Reports) including Incident, Request and Problem ticket handling
• Conception, development and testing of ETL jobs (MS Integration Services) as well as  reporting solutions (MS Reporting Services, SAP BO Crystal Reports, MS Power BI)
• Coordination and planning of various additional reporting solutions (requirement gathering and definition, consulting and conceptual design) with internal customers
• Monitoring of our BI environment proactively to avoid problems with different data interfaces or outages
• Documentation of new developed solutions into our knowledge management system
• Supporting stakeholders through data analysis and delivering specific data knowledge

• Successfully completed studies in (business) computer science or a completed apprenticeship with a focus on computer science
• Profound SQL / T-SQL skills
• At least five years of professional development skills in the following Microsoft Business Intelligence tools:
  • Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Development of ETL-Processes for MS SQL Server Data Warehouse solutions
  • Integrating different source systems to Data Warehouse systems
  • Creation of data models in Data Warehouse systems
  • Analysis Services (SSAS)
  • Development of SSAS solutions in Tabular Model
  • Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) skills
  • Implementation, optimization and maintenance of relevant data models
  • Understanding of different data sources and how to merge them into some kind of generic data model
    Power BI (Service)
  • Design, development and testing of Power BI reports and interactive dashboards
  • Expert knowledge regarding the visualization of data and key figures in reporting and dashboarding context
  • Experience with different data models from a DWH and reporting analytical perspective
  • Professional development skills with reporting tools for data visualization, like Reporting Services (SSRS) or Crystal Reports, to create, optimize and automize report solutions
  • Experience in data quality checks and different (automated) testing scenarios of BI developments and solutions (back and front end)
  • Ability to work in an agile BI team (DevOps) and to share skills and experience
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud infrastructure in the Business Intelligence context (e.g. Fabric platform)
  • Understanding of data governance principles and experience in monitoring data quality
  • Experience in use of SVN or other versioning tools for BI development versioning
• Nice to have: German language skills
• Fluency in English
• ITIL  knowledge / certification
