Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Application Engineer to support our sales activities across the East Europe market within the Datalogic Factory Automation Division. In this role, you will work closely with regional sales team, partners, and end customers to provide technical expertise on Datalogic's industrial automation solutions.

Role Mission

Reporting directly to Sales Director, drive adoption of Datalogic's stationary industrial scanning and machine vision technologies. You will support the sales team with strong application expertise and ensure customer success by giving technical guidance from the feasibility study to final implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical support, including application analysis, solution design, and product demonstrations.
  • Execute feasibility tests, proofs of concept, and customer trials for stationary industrial scanners and machine vision systems.
  • Support system configuration, integration, testing, and commissioning at customer sites or remotely.
  • Deliver technical training, workshops, and guidance to sales teams, partners, and end users.
  • Assist sales in presenting solutions, participating in customer visits, and supporting trade shows or industry events.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to relay customer feedback, requirements, and market insights.

Requirements


•    Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

•    Languages: English: fluent both verbal and written; additional East European languages are an advantage.

•    Experience: From 2–5+ years of experience in industrial automation, machine vision, barcode reading, sensors, or related technologies. Experience working in manufacturing, system integration, factory or logistic automation environments is a strong plus.  Hands-on experience with installing, configuring, or supporting stationary industrial scanners or machine vision systems is preferred. 

Other Information & Specific Skills

  • Strong technical understanding of industrial automation, barcode readers, and machine vision technologies
  • Ability to analyze customer applications and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on, practical approach to testing, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Good presentation and communication skills for customer meetings, trainings, and product demonstrations.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, customer-facing environment with frequent collaboration across teams.
  • Willingness to travel within East Europe for customer visits, integrations, and training sessions.
  • High level of autonomy, motivation, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license
