Role Overview
The role of the Implementation Engineer is to configure the companys applications to the requirements agreed with the final clients.

Responsibilities

  • Working with client-facing delivery, programme and project managers to understand the needs of clients and turn these into configuration work items.
  • Using tools written by the company and, where necessary, changing files directly, implement the clients chosen configuration work items following agreed processes and procedures.
  • Verifying that the software is working in accordance with the work items; ensuring the selected features appear and are functional before handing off to other teams.
  • Meeting with clients, when required, to support delivery, programme and project managers by showing configured software and/or discussing configuration options.
  • Collaborating with Infrastructure and Software Engineering Teams to implement agreed client work items.
  • Reporting progress on each implementation project to agreed standards.
  • Working with the Implementation Team to define improvements to the teams operating model, processes and procedures to improve project delivery times and reduce rework.
  • Learning new applications so they can be configured to customer requirements.
  • Working with Infrastructure, Engineering Teams, and Management to devise/refine tooling for configuration applications.

Experience required

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; clients and colleagues are global, and post holders must have an excellent command of business English.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in other languages.
  • Logical thinking to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to implement changes accurately when working under pressure.

Nice to have

  • Basic knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and/or a programming language such as Java, C#, PHP (skills dont need to have been gained in a commercial setting).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced/pressured team environment; not necessarily in Information Technology.
  • Experience working in Financial Services.

  • College leaver with a computing subject (A Level in the UK) who is looking for an entry level job in the IT business without going to University
  • 1st/2nd Line Support engineer who is fed up with listening to complaints and would like to do something more creative
  • Very senior worker in the IT sector (e.g. coder, tester), perhaps with 3-5 years to retirement looking for simpler role
  • Someone who is doing a similar role for a software house, perhaps over looked for promotion and looking to develop their career.
