As LSEG continues its transformation of Global Network Operations, we are seeking a Network Observability and Telemetry Engineer to join our global team spanning the US, UK, Bucharest, India, and Sri Lanka. This diverse team is responsible for building observability tools and enhancing self-healing capabilities, working closely with Global Network Services to ensure our network remains highly available, resilient, and secure.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain network observability and telemetry solutions, including health monitoring, alert handling, and incident remediation using automated tools.
- Implement and refine Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) for network performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues using telemetry insights.
- Build API-driven services to integrate observability tools with other platforms.
- Automate internal processes and workflows within the network infrastructure to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Develop automated test frameworks and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation.
- Support deployment pipelines and manage release schedules for observability tools.
- Generate reports to identify and remediate network inventory gaps and ensure compliance with standards.
- Contribute to vulnerability identification and ensure a secure network environment.
- Participate in on-call support rotations as needed.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., CCNA-level knowledge).
- Experience with network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Sev1, Entuity, Datadog, BigPanda).
- Programming skills, preferably in Python.
- Familiarity with automation/orchestration tools such as Ansible.
- Ability to build and work with API-based services.
- Understanding of asset and configuration management processes.
- Exposure to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (e.g., JIRA, GitLab).
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
