Role description:

You will join our Structural Engineering team in the Arcadis Iasi or Bucharest office, part of the Mobility GBA, where our projects and development opportunities can fit various ambitions from structural engineering, 3D modeling and parametric design to Operate & Maintain digital methods. The delivery is secured through global collaboration platforms like ACC, which allows engineers across various offices to work together seamlessly while maintaining clear visibility for our clients..

Role accountabilities:

• Communicate regularly with the Operational Teams, BIM Coordinators, BIM Modelers, Project Managers and external partners as well as the Clients Information Managers
• Agree project BIM objectives, communicate status of engineering solutions
• Responsible for the implementation, management and delivery of BIM on projects at a Business Unit Level
• Responsible for managing technical aspects of BIM production for projects or components of major projects
• Apply the BIM processes and are capable of establishing and implementing a BIM Execution Plan (objectives, requirements and conditions) and a delivery strategy in conjunction with a client and delivery team
• Contribute to the design, development, manufacture, construction, commissioning, operation or maintenance of products, equipment, processes, systems or services
• Work in collaboration with other design disciplines applying BIM solutions to ensure the integrity of the overall design
• Oversee an agreed scope of BIM work and the operational workload of a project team including sub-contractors, ensuring BIM work is allocated appropriately and BIM resources are fully utilized
• Ensure compliance with Arcadis BIM standards and national BIM standards
• Provide technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery on the project
• Manage the production of, and quality assure BIM deliverables to ensure that they meet or exceed client expectations as well as
• Arcadis requirements, and that they comply with national standards and codes of practice
• Participate the Civil Structures Design coordination meetings with engineers and designers
• Work collaboratively with all design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution
• Manage the production of complex coordinated project models that are accurate, clear and concise and compliant with best practice and any other quality standards dictated by the nature of the project
• Check and verify that quality requirements have been achieved in accordance with Arcadis systems
• Maintaining a good understanding of the background of the Arcadis business areas to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry;
  
  Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile
• Control, monitor and steer the BIM process with the necessary tools
• Ensure compliance with ARCADIS drafting and BIM standards and national drafting and BIM standards throughout all projects
• Where required, assist the Team BIM manager with the creation of BIM standards and processes]
• Guide a project team through the BIM process and provide ad hoc assistance to the wider practice when required Handling project under BIM Level 2 details and sound understanding of BIM workflows
• Liaise with the project team, client and consultants to review all BIM models for the project and make any necessary amendments
• Champion the use of BIM while balancing its application to ensure meaningful project and client benefits are achieved
• Provide advanced BIM training and ensure the project team adheres to BIM standards, execution plans, and ISO 19650
• Coach and guide involved employees with the implementation and application of BIM
• Guide a project team through the BIM process and provide ad hoc assistance to the wider practice when required
• Deliver close compliance with Arcadis Integrated Management System requirements to support delivery of design and engineering projects
• Knowledge sharing with others, team working spirit.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant Structural engineering degree Demonstrate an analytical mindset and a proactive attitude toward self-directed learning and professional development
• Relevant experience in Concrete & Steel Design, Concrete Reinforcement, Architectural BIM Models related to civil projects
• Experienced in creating detailed plans and bills of quantities for reinforced concrete, as well as for reinforced and prestressed structures, steel structures, and/or composite structures, demonstrating competence in this area.
• Experienced and competent in projects developed in the BIM environment
• Have ability in setting up and coordinating a BIM Protocol and Execution Plan for a given project
• Ability to create custom families and templates to enhance BIM workflows
• Understanding of construction phasing and sequencing for complex projects
• Have capability in 2 or 3 BIM modelling related software packages
• Ability and interest in learning and developing new technologies and automation processes
• Have advanced proficiency with relevant desktop applications and their application to support engineering tasks
• Analytical mindset and self-learning attitude
• Have a track record in designing specialized structural elements such as bridge decks, abutments, piles, or retaining walls
• Proficient in detailing software for reinforced concrete
• Ability to guide and check the work of other team members
• Have substantial relevant (production) experience in design, drafting or engineering and BIM]
• Excellent time management skills consistently demonstrated through performance on projects
• Display exceptional command of technical English terminology and communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with parametric design and scripting languages, such as Dynamo or Grasshopper
• Experience with laser scanning and point cloud data integration into BIM models
• Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices, including ISO 19650
• Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information System) and its integration with BIM for geospatial analysis
• Multilingual proficiency in languages like Dutch, French, and German
