Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Cloud Data Engineer to join our growing data team. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies.

You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality datasets and insights that drive strategic business decisions.

Your role:

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines using GCP-native tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer (Airflow).
• Build and optimize data architectures and data lakes/warehouses on Google Cloud Platform.
• Integrate data from various structured and unstructured sources (APIs, databases, third-party platforms).
• Ensure data quality and integrity by establishing robust monitoring, validation, and testing processes.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver efficient solutions.
• Automate workflow orchestration and data pipeline deployment using tools like Cloud Composer and Terraform.
• Implement data security and compliance best practices in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization of data processes and queries.
• Document data systems, processes, and best practices.

Your profile:

• 5+years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data-centric role.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP, especially BigQuery, Dataflow/Apache Beam, Dataproc/Spark, Cloud Storage, and Pub/Sub.
• Proficiency in SQL (preferably BigQuery dialect) and programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL pipeline construction, and workflow orchestration (Airflow, Cloud Composer).
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager) is a plus.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality management, and security best practices.
• Excellent communication in Romanian and English and teamwork skills.
• Nice to Have
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization.
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (Kafka, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification is a plus.
