MOL Romania is looking for a highly motivated and experienced
Category Manager Gastro
who will be responsible for the end-to-end management of assigned product categories. This includes developing category strategies based on the 4P elements (Product/Price/Placement/ Promotion), analyzing market trends, managing vendor relationships and optimizing product assortment to maximize sales and profitability.

Location: Bucharest, Romania

As a Category Manager Gastro, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and implement category strategy to drive growth, market share and profitability (based on overall company and commercial strategy); Prepare and leads commercial negotiations of goods and services with suppliers
  • Build and maintain strong business relationship with suppliers, collaborate on new product launches and promotional activities; Facilitate product development process (including own brands) based on Group defined standards and strategy
  • Define and execute optimal pricing strategy for the category; Contribute to the design of layouts to maximize retail store space, sales and profit
  • Provide input for implementation of gastro equipment for service stations; Plan and execute marketing activities in cooperation with Retail Marketing function
  • Monitor and analyze category performance and creates action plans and activities for underperforming categories or products; Monitor waste and losses and proactively creates action plans for minimalization thereof
  • Monitor and re-assess continuously the Category results vs annual business plan targets; Keep track of latest customer and industry trends, competitor activities
  • Become the expert of the related categories through visiting competitors, convenience shops, and analyzing internal and external data

To be successful in the role, you should have:

  • University degree (preferably in Economics or Business degree)
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant offer or category management experience in a multinational supplier / retailer company in key account manager or category manager position. Experience with cross country cooperation is advantage
  • Entrepreneurial and commercial mind-set, excellent communication and negotiation skills, good relationship management / team player, customer focused, strong analytical skills
  • Proven track record in: Grocery / Non-Food business, Network development, Driving sales gains through application of Category Management, Project management
