Reporting to Offer Management Director

What makes the job dynamic:

• Responsible for fulfilling the commercial and financial objectives of the subordinate department and categories (Edible Groceries & Canned Food, Sweets & Confectionery, Commodities, Detergents & Cosmetics)
• Responsible with the strategy regarding the offer of food products and creating the best offer for Metro customers in accordance with the strategy and principles established by the company at the international level, aligned at the local level and based on customer needs
• Forecasts, plans and implements the purchasing strategy in order to increase sales and overall profitability, considering the objectives regarding turnover, margin, payment terms, stock, old stock, total profit, etc.
• Performs, together with the Category Managers, the assortment analysis / review process and approves the listing of new articles
• Realizes the best strategy for negotiating annual contracts between Metro and food suppliers and supervises its implementation
• Supervises the performance of all necessary steps regarding the initiation, maintenance and termination of commercial relations with suppliers
• Monitors the standard of the competition in terms of assortment positioning (assortment size, price and quality positioning, communication activities)
• Defines the appropriate price positioning for each category based on Metro policies and competition analysis and supervises its implementation by the coordinated Category Managers
• Defines and communicates the negotiation strategy with suppliers and guides and supervises the negotiations carried out by Category Managers
