About the Role

The HW ECAD Expert is a member of a global HW development team to realize Infotainment- and CarComputer- solutions in automotive systems, which includes assessment of requirements and feasibility, definition of suitable concepts, implementation and verification, but mainly design of PCBs with multiple layer stack-ups.

What You Will Do

• Utilize Mentor Graphics Design Suite to design PCB layout for projects / products
• Design of PCBs with multiple layers, considering the specifications and restrictions for routing high speed signals and interfaces (Video, Ethernet, LPDDR, USB,etc) and for routing power planes and signals.
• Involvement in defining technical aspects of PCB design for projects/products
• Support to provide appropriate PCB material and stack up choices/definitions
• Experience with current PCB material choices and fabrication techniques
• Assess the cost impact and manufacturing impact of PCBs on projects/products
• Be involved in verifying PCB vendor technical and quality capabilities
• Cooperate with internal and external team members, including Mechanical engineers, electronic engineers, PCB suppliers etc.
• Take ownership of PCB design and on time delivery with high quality
• Signal and power integrity simulations based on current layout designs (using Harman agreed tools).
• Release the final production files for PCBs.
• Be in contact with PCB manufacturers and respond to their technical questions regarding PCB production process.

What You Need to Be Successful

• Minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, computer science or related areas)
• At least 3 years professional experience in PCB layout design
• Good experience with one of the following CAD tools: Mentor, Pads, Allegro – Preferred: MentorExpedition
• Familiar with IPC and other standards for PCB design and manufacturing
• Knowledge of Hardware Technology in automotive area
• Good English speaking and writing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work cross functionally to understand requirements

Bonus Points if You Have

• Known Branches:
  
  Automotive Manufacturer (OEM) and Automotive Supplier (Tier-1 and Tier-2)
  
  Semiconductor Manufacturer (OEM) and Semiconductor Supplier
• Analyze SI requirements of products
• Experience with suggesting PCB technologies to get adequate SI performance from PCBs
