About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded C Software Engineer to join our Graphics Team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing graphics drivers, managers, and interfaces for our range of aviation products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architecting and customizing graphics drivers for programmable GPUs
  • Tuning GPUs for new platforms
  • Developing and optimizing graphics managers to support multithreaded/multiplatform/multiwindow applications that share one or more GPUs
  • Creating OpenGL, Vulkan, and software-based graphics interfaces to enable seamless GPU/CPUs usage
  • Designing new shaders to enhance graphics features on Garmin Avionics
  • Maintaining a comprehensive regression test platform to ensure the graphics stack libraries work for all supported products
  • Certifying Graphics stack libraries to relevant safety standards
  • Debugging complex graphical issues for Flight Deck products like GX000 and HUD to retrofit products like GDU700
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong C programming skills and experience
  • Knowledge of low-level programming principles
  • Familiarity with software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, simulators, static code analysis, and logic analyzers)
  • Ability to collaborate closely with product teams to integrate new features and technology into product platforms
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, or another relevant engineering/technical field
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience
