We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team.

Garmin Labs is our R&D department where we focus on innovation and technology.

As part of this team, you will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining the backend servers for various projects.

We value candidates that are willing to take technical ownership and make significant contributions both in terms of code and proposed architectural solutions.

This position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively and professionally in a team environment to develop software for specific requirements and technical problems, following industry standards.
  • Create and execute designs for new functionalities as part of a software project.
  • Demonstrate proficient use and knowledge of established standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate and bring value by actively participating in code reviews and technical discussions.
  • Utilize development tools for version control, deployment, monitoring, and other instruments used in the software engineering process.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Java SE 8 or newer.
  • Good knowledge of web services (REST APIs) and Spring Boot.
  • Knowledgeable about relational or non-relational databases.
  • Good understanding of OOP principles and design patterns.
  • Good usage skills of development tools (version control, deployment, issue tracking).
  • Strong English speaking and writing skills.
  • BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
