What You’ll Be Part Of
Short Range Devices (SRD) are becoming more and more important in the car. Handsfree Call uses Bluetooth, CarPlay and Android Auto are based on WiFi, V2X is key technologies to enable Autonomous Driving and UWB/NFC are the part of Passive Keyless Entry.
As RF expert you are responsible for RF design of reusable blocks, modules and products with SRD technologies like Bluetooth, WLAN, V2X, UWB and NFC in frequency range up to 9 GHz.
You closely work with Functional Owners of SRD technologies and cover all phases of the RF design: schematic, layout and simulation as well as measurement.
You also take responsibility for the implementation of one of SRD solutions in projects.
You will be part of the Short Range Device team in SBU Connectivity and directly report to a manager in Karlsbad/Germany. The team is spitted between Karlsbad/Germany and Bucharest/Romania.
You will be located Bucharest / Romania.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Support the development and validation of RF systems and short-range wireless devices
Perform RF measurements, debugging, and performance analysis in lab environments
Work with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators
Contribute to EMC and regulatory testing activities
Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and system engineering teams
Analyze and troubleshoot RF-related issues in prototypes and products
Create and maintain technical documentation, test reports, and measurement results
Support the integration of RF and regulatory requirements into product development
Support of Functional Owners and other team members in RF related topics
What Makes You A Strong Fit
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Radio Frequency Engineering related technical field
Open to recent graduates: as a junior engineer, you will be supported and mentored by an experienced team to help you grow and develop your skills, while bringing:
Strong academic interest in subjects such as:
RF and wireless communication systems (Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, UWB, NFC, RFID)
High‑frequency (HF) engineering
HF Simulation (ADS, HFSS, …)
Basic knowledge in Linux and scripts
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
Measurement and laboratory techniques in HF
Signal processing fundamentals
Antennas
Basic knowledge of RF measurement equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers)
Familiarity with analytical or scripting tools such as Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW
Basic knowledge of Linux environments and simple scripting (e.g., Bash or shell scripts)
Bonus Points if You Have
Experiences in collaboration with teams in various geographies
Initial practical experience through internships, lab work, or student projects is a plus
Things To Know
You have a working knowledge of English
You are willing to travel, if necessary.
You have a valid driver’s license.
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment (post-offer).
