Internship Specification Engineer

You'll be joining one of our global Development Units, comprising over 1,300 professionals across 11 R&D departments located in multiple countries and continents. At our Timisoara site, you'll become part of a dedicated team within your local department—typically made up of 10–20 colleagues, including developers, testers, and specification engineers, each with clearly defined roles.

You'll be part of the R&D Architecture & Specification team , where you'll help design software functionalities for Nokia's 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G base stations - solutions delivered to customers worldwide. You will contribute to defining solutions and designing software functionalities for our base station product, taking part in the full development cycle - including specifications and support for both development and testing teams.

Position: Specification Engineer trainee

Duration: Part-time 6h/day

Location: Hybrid in Timisoara, Romania

• Conduct research, analyze requirements, and develop technical specifications
• Create clear and detailed requirements, specifications, and supporting documentation for R&D activities
• Take part in planning, reporting, and reviewing documentation and architecture within project scope
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, providing coaching, driving decision-making, and leading teams to solve complex engineering challenges in your area of expertise
• Work closely with development and testing engineers to ensure smooth integration and verification of features

Must have:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of requirements specification and UML (sequence, activity, state machine diagrams)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Strong understanding of programming principles and wireless/cloud technologies
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), with a responsible, analytical, and team-oriented mindset
