This position requires on-site presence 2 days per week (Bucharest office).

Then what?

We are looking for an IT Storage Engineer to join our client's Level 2 IT Engineering team, responsible for monitoring and administering the Storage infrastructure that supports entities across Europe, with coverage during both business and non-business hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage storage infrastructure (SAN/NAS) and related alarms, performing first-level interventions as needed.
  • Manage and resolve Level 2 incidents, including follow-up and contribution to the knowledge base.
  • Identify recurring incidents and open problem tickets.
  • Implement changes and upgrades in production environments, ensuring service quality per Service Contracts.
  • Document procedures, incident reports, and day-to-day activities; review and suggest improvements.
  • Install, configure, and test storage tools, software, and components; provide necessary updates to Technical Lead.
  • Communicate incidents, changes, and service quality summaries to clients.
  • Occasionally provide on-call support outside business hours and document these activities.

Requirements:

  • Storage Technologies:
    Skilled in at least one: Dell EMC DataDomain, IBM Flash Storage, NetApp Storage.
  • Operating Systems & Virtualization:
    Good level of knowledge.
  • Networking:
    Required knowledge of network engineering basics.
  • Backup Infrastructure:
    Basic knowledge.
  • Storage Tasks:
    Adding volumes, configuring remote backup/mirroring (SRDF), EMC TimeFinder/IBM FlashCopy, SAN disk management, partitions, migrations, SAN port reservations, ODM/Powerpath upgrades, NAS infrastructure improvements, SAN audits, performance audits, malfunction analysis.
  • Support Experience:
    Previous L2 Support Engineer experience; registering, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents; following up on tickets within SLAs; coordinating with third-party suppliers and escalating when needed.
  • Language Skills:
    Very good communication skills in English (oral and written), French is a plus.
