Job summary

TACTIS concept is based on a global simulation and training approach, operating in a wide number of domains (air, land, sea). It links together various systems into a synthetic environment, aimed at instructing and training from the individual crew members up to company team level.

DESK, as part of TACTIS system, is called also "Instructor Toolbox", with the main purpose of providing a set of convenient tools for the instructors to manage and evaluate the trainees. DESK components can be used to prepare, evaluate and replay an exercise, using different points of view.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the DESK backend or frontend and all future evolutions of DESK project
• Manage the software activities and tasks assigned to you according to project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
• Work in a co-engineering approach with other cross-functional roles / teams using Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Solve problems all along the development life-cycle (from design to delivery), ensuring the delivery of high-quality software artefacts
• Write unit test libraries and concepts to obtain a good code average.
• Focus on continuous improvement of all software implementation activities

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus in .NET 4.8.x.
• Strong proficiency in C#
• Experience with Angular programming language and other front-end frameworks and languages
• Solid understanding of OOP principles and design patterns
• Experience in Winforms API design.
• Experience in .NET Remoting.
• Experience in MVC architecture (MVVM will be appreciated).
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of database technologies such as Postgres SQL Server (Entity Framework will be appreciated).
• Experience with asynchronous programming and multithreading
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
• Familiarity with MQTT network protocol

Would be a plus:

• Knowledge of Azure Cloud and Gitlab, Artifactory tools
• Previous experience of programming in Linux for distributed systems
• Confident in using DevSecOps tools (build & integration, SAST/DAST, CI/CD, etc.)
