Welding Engineer

Work Location: Saipem Romania, Aricestii Rahtivani, Prahova

This position is adressed to applicants already resident and with valid work permit in Romania at the time of application.

Tasks

Assist and support the Welding Coordinator and/or the project teams on all welding matters;
Prepare and issue preliminary Welding Documents for assigned project or bids;
Reviewing client specifications and scopes of work, examining pipe metallurgy and preparing detailed Welding procedures to achieve maximum productivity in accordance with specified quality;
Reviewing subcontractors tender documents and technical qualifications;
Ensure that Welding traceability information are recorded, maintained and available in the required format for all Welding activities to demonstrate achievement of client requirements;
Review journals and technical papers for new welding technology.

Requirements

Technical university degree;
English proficiency at a medium level (advanced level is a plus);
Capability to analyze dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation action;
Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to technical documentation;
Good communication skills for interacting with internal teams/ subcontractors/ clients;
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary project environments;

Desirable Expertise (will Be Considered a Plus)

Knowledge of main international Discipline standards, codes, and regulations;
Knowledge of the metallurgical properties of the main metallic materials and impact on their physical, mechanical and corrosion resistance properties;
Knowledge of methods for offshore pipeline installation;
Knowledge of main welding processes (GMAW, SAW, FCAW, GTAW, Plasma, others) typically required by projects and related techniques;
International Welding Engineer/European Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE) certificate.
