About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. Working alongside technologists and subject matter experts, you will be responsible for implementing functionalities across an application designed for a leading German platform in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation, excellent problem-solving skills, and fluency in German language.

Responsibilities

  • Own the test strategy for each epic/story and turn acceptance criteria into executable tests.
  • Build and maintain UI automation for Angular SPAs (Cypress or Playwright).
  • Develop API automation and contract checks for Spring services.
  • Ensure deterministic runs through data seeding, test doubles and stable environments.
  • Implement quality gates, dashboards and actionable reporting in pipelines.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in QA automation for web applications.
  • Fluency in German (B2 or higher), required for collaboration and documentation.
  • Proven experience with Cypress or Playwright (TypeScript) for UI testing.
  • Strong background in API testing (Postman, Playwright API, Rest Assured).
  • Solid understanding of asynchronous flows and stateful app testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency with Git, Jira, and clear defect tracking/documentation.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Angular internals and testing best practices.
  • Performance testing experience (k6, JMeter).
  • Familiarity with observability tools (Azure Monitor, logs, traces, HARs).
  • Experience with mocks/stubs, synthetic data, or basic security testing (OWASP Top 10).
