Senior Finance Controller – Hospitals Medicover Romania (Cluj)

Location: Cluj-Napoca / Hybrid

As a Senior Finance Controller for our hospitals in Cluj, you will play a key role in ensuring transparency, performance, and financial excellence that support our mission to build a healthier tomorrow for patients and teams alike.

Your Mission

To provide accurate, insightful, and timely financial analysis and reporting for the two hospitals in Cluj, supporting both local management and the Group Finance team in data-driven decision-making. You will contribute directly to budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring, ensuring efficiency and compliance with financial standards.

What you will do

  • Support the development and maintenance of the hospitals' budgeting models, including revenue and cost forecasting in collaboration with department heads
  • Track financial performance versus budget and deliver detailed variance analysis
  • Conduct margin and cost variance analysis across services, departments, and patient categories
  • Monitor cost-control initiatives and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Ensure proper accounting procedures and cost allocation principles are applied
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and insights for hospital management and Group Finance
  • Support the Head of Finance – Pelican & Polaris with operational controlling, performance tracking, and timely Group reporting
  • Develop and monitor remuneration-based financial models and evaluate their impact on profitability
  • Regularly review key financial KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement

What we are looking for

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • 5–7 years of experience in Controlling / FP&A / Financial Reporting, preferably in healthcare or services
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and Romanian accounting standards
  • Excellent Excel and data-modelling skills; ERP experience (SAP or similar) is an advantage;
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills
