THE ROLE

The Data Analyst role is responsible for master data management across the enterprise while ensuring high levels of data quality, integrity, availability, and privacy. This individual is responsible for standardizing data naming, establishing consistent data definitions, and monitoring/auditing the data.

The Data Analyst should focus on business benefits, foster the goal of data re-use and articulate the strategic significance of information to the organization.

OPPORTUNITIES

  • You will work under the Data Governance (DG) Lead to help uphold data governance policies and standards to ensure consistent data definitions and monitor overall data quality in systems such as, but not limited to, Oracle, E-Business Suite, Salesforce, Hyperion, and PowerBI.
  • You will ensure that data management methodologies include the steps, activities, and deliverables required to consistently achieve high-quality data.
  • You will ensure that the applications adhere to defined DG practices, policies, and procedures, and identify and manage the resolution of data quality issues such as uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness in a cost-effective and timely fashion.
  • You will set up all new customers and suppliers in the Oracle system, ensuring there are no duplicate items created and that customers are set up in the correct hierarchy.
  • You will update process flow charts relating to master data in the systems, including chart of accounts, customers, suppliers, and project codes.
  • You will review all users of the Oracle Ebiz tool to ensure the accesses provided are appropriate and maintain a segregation of duties checklist to ensure that the company does not run any potential fraud risks or misuse of the system.
  • You will interpret and communicate complex research outcomes and provide recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives to senior management through written, verbal, and visual methods, in ways that advocate for multiple users and generate compelling reasons to change.
  • You will execute report development and analytical activity to generate data that is used to drive measurable improvement in business performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • You will create appropriate delivery materials such as PowerPoint presentations, Excel reports, and Word documents.
  • You will perform ad-hoc analysis requests, which can involve merging datasets, cleaning data, conducting analysis, and providing interpretation.
  • You will perform additional process analysis and implementation as requested by the management team.
  • You will participate in formal project teams and activities to help implement DG guidelines.
    You will introduce innovations that enable the company to understand customers better and more efficiently.

SKILLS

  • You should have 1–2 years of industry experience working with data.
  • You should have strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with pivot tables and VBA macros skills considered a plus.
  • You should have experience in ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • You should have an understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices, which is considered a plus.
  • You should have experience with data processing flowcharting techniques, preferred.
  • You should have exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • You should have strong written, technical documentation, and oral communication skills.
  • You should have strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • You should have the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • You should have the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • You should have experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • You should have an educational background and proficiency level as a university graduate in Computer Science or Economics, preferred.
    You should have fluency in English.
