Scor Tech (~200 employees across the globe) provides products, services, and support to all SCOR Group worldwide. Its 2 key challenges today are to successfully implement its new Target Operating Model (TOM), to be supported by an ambitious pluri-annual internalization plan to deliver innovative products and services to its clients.

The Tech organization is an Agile matricial organization relying on 4 pillars:

  • Data and System Engineering , made of the following teams: Data Center of Excellence, Products and Systems Engineering and Enterprise Architecture
  • Management & Control (M&C) & Corporate Systems , made of teams supporting Crews and Transversal Functional Domains: Governance, T&D Operating Model Implementation, Security & Compliance, Financial Control, Sourcing & Vendor Management, Governance, and Processes
  • Technical , made of teams dedicated to IT Operations, Network, Cloud, Workplace & Cloud Productivity Services
  • Crews and Transversal Functional Domains

Crews are supported by Chapters (Software Engineering, Architecture, Data, and Operation) and both Technical and M&C teams are fully dedicated to the delivery of SCOR products, services and support.

Under the responsibility of Head of Observability Platform, Observability Engineer supports the company's strategic and operating objectives through administration, management and support of SCOR central observability platform. Within SCOR IT Technical / Operations Chapter, your key function will consist in:

  • Contributing to maintaining SCOR group's information systems in operational condition,
  • Collaborating with CI Factory team to seamlessly integrate Observability tools in Provisioning and Delivery processes,
    Sharing and training peers and Squad members on Observability tools and Practices.

Your role requires to be open-minded, information-sharing and problem-solving oriented, while working in a demanding environment with various stakeholders, in Technical department but also in Functional department, in close collaboration with Squads and Solution Owners.

  • Maintain Observability Tools high level of availability, reliability and performance
  • Contribute to Observability tools and practices continuous improvement to stay current with market trend and to support Squads' requirements for metrics

Embed Observability practices through integration in CI Factory

Key duties and responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the Head of Production, your mission and tasks will be:

  • Maintain, configure, deploy and plan changes for SCOR Cloud Services
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance and strategic recommendations to develop a roadmap that ensures that current and planned technical solutions are compatible with business needs and strategic objectives
  • Troubleshoot issues and participate in multi-discipline war rooms to resolve customer incidents as an L2 or L3 expert when circumstances require it.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call L2/L3 support for production applications and services on weekly rotating basis.
  • Support IT Functional teams with development of processes to support business needs. Also expected to develop jobs to support pure technical processes.
  • Identify and complete activities that introduce significant improvement to SCOR ecosystem (time savings, cost savings, system upgrades, reduces complexity, etc…)
  • Identify and complete activities for strategic/functional projects
  • Ensure adequate controls and control reports are available to comply with regulators and global governance
  • Ensure compliance with IT technical policies
  • Ensure compliance and deliver evidence as required to maintain ICS controls

Required experience & competencies

  • 2+ years of experience supporting IT Production systems
    Fluent in English (written, spoken)

Hard skills

  • Observability tools experience (Elastic, Logstash, Kibana, AppDynamic, Dynatrace or Instana, Nagios…) is mandatory
  • Expertise with administration, support and troubleshooting of enterprise applications
  • Experience with the following (or similar) technologies:
  • Operating Systems (Linux, Windows) & Networking (DNS, routing, etc…)
  • Application Servers and databases
  • Authentication services
  • Azure
  • Containerization and Kubernetes (AKS)
  • DataBricks
  • Hands on experience with Monitoring, Patching, Backup, Disaster Recovery, High Availibility,… solutions is desirable
    Cloud and Security expertise is desirable

Required Education

Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related analytical field; or equivalent experience
