Manual QA Engineer

Overview:

We're looking for a hands-on Manual QA Engineer to support the decommissioning of a legacy risk database as the organisation transitions to Snowflake. This role is highly functional, working closely with large, cross-functional technical teams to ensure a clean, accurate, and well-documented platform shutdown.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute manual QA processes for the decommissioning of a risk database.
  • Validate data integrity, migration accuracy, and system dependencies before and during shutdown.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data teams, and project managers to ensure smooth transition to Snowflake.
  • Identify and document risks, edge cases, and validation gaps during decommissioning.
  • Produce clear test plans, results, and sign-off documentation for compliance and audit purposes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Manual QA Engineer (no automation focus required).
  • Experience decommissioning or sunsetting complex data platforms or systems.
  • Strong understanding of data validation and QA methodologies.
  • Comfortable working in large technical teams and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exposure to Snowflake or similar modern data platforms (bonus).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Contract Details:

  • 12-month initial term with likely 6-month extension.
  • 1 day per week onsite in Bucharest; otherwise remote.
  • Competitive daily rate – open depending on experience.
