About the Role

We're looking for a Senior React Native Developer to work on a multi-platform language learning product. You'll focus on solving complex technical problems, shaping mobile architecture, and working deeply within a shared monorepo environment.

The role involves production React Native development (React Native 0.79, React 19, TypeScript 5.x) and occasional native platform work for iOS and Android.

What You'll Work With

You'll work inside a multi-package monorepo (Yarn Workspaces + Turborepo), integrating shared TypeScript libraries across mobile, web, and backend. The app uses modern React Native patterns, custom native modules, multi-environment configurations, CI/CD pipelines, and integrations with systems like Firebase, AWS, and feature flagging.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Development

  • Build production features for iOS and Android using React Native 0.79 and TypeScript 5.x.
  • Work with native modules and platform-specific code when needed.
  • Implement responsive UI, advanced animations, and high-performance list rendering.
  • Integrate authentication, analytics, content delivery, and audio playback capabilities.

Architecture & Technical Direction

  • Provide technical direction for major epics and releases.
  • Contribute to the mobile architecture across navigation, state management, shared package usage, and build configuration.
  • Propose and document architectural decisions.
  • Maintain high-quality code standards, including strict typing and testing practices through code review.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work with backend (NestJS) and web ) oriented team members on API design, shared logic, and type contracts.
  • Collaborate through code reviews and help maintain coherent patterns across the monorepo.
  • Coordinate changes to shared packages affecting mobile, web, and backend.

Deployment & Reliability

  • Contribute to CI/CD workflows, multi-environment configuration, and OTA update processes.
  • Diagnose iOS/Android build issues and debug across native and JavaScript layers.
  • Monitor app performance, investigate production crashes, and address complex stability issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ in production React Native.
  • Strong experience with React 19, React Native 0.79, and TypeScript 5.x.
  • Comfort working with native iOS or Android when debugging or integrating modules.
  • Solid grasp of performance optimization techniques in React Native.
  • Experience with navigation patterns, state management, and automated testing.
  • Track record of owning complex technical areas or features end-to-end.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Firebase or AWS services.
  • Background with audio playback, in-app purchases, or feature flagging systems.
  • Exposure to shared-code architectures (e.g., + NestJS).
