Junior IoT Engineer (Bucharest/hybrid)

(We are recruiting on behalf of a client, a leading provider of IoT and telecom infrastructure solutions)

As part of our IoT Solutions team, you'll deploy and maintain embedded Linux systems for critical-infrastructure monitoring, helping clients slash energy costs and boost uptime across telecom networks, data centers and IoT enabled businesses. You'll work closely with senior engineers on end-to-end IoT projects, from hardware rollout to remote monitoring dashboards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and deploy Linux-based IoT gateways and sensors
  • Develop and maintain Python scripts for data collection and automation
  • Build and customize Grafana dashboards fed by TSDB (InfluxDB) or SQL backends
  • Implement SNMP monitoring, VPN/TLS tunnels and IP-network configurations
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for customer installations
  • Participate in design reviews, code walks and team demos

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Hands-on experience with Linux-embedded systems and IP networking
  • Proficiency in Python or other scripting language
  • Fluent English and strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Self-driven can-do attitude, attention to detail and proven teamwork

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with time-series databases (InfluxDB) and Grafana
  • SQL querying and dashboard-driven analytics
  • Experience with SNMP, MQTT and VPN setups on IoT devices
  • Valid driving license for occasional site visits
  • Agile/Scrum or DevOps mindset
