ETL Developer

Analysis and Requirements Gathering

• Collaborate with fellow developers, business analysts and stakeholders to gather and document ETL requirements
• Conduct a thorough analysis of data sources, structures, and workflows
• Translate business needs into detailed technical designs, ensuring adherence to data integration and PIT team best practices

ETL Design and Development

• Build, configure, and troubleshoot Informatica mappings and workflows to handle complex data integration scenarios
• Follow standardized naming conventions, provide detailed descriptions, and adhere to Informatica and PIT team best practices
• Define and configure parameters and workflow properties for dynamic and flexible processes
• Create shell scripts to support ETL workflows
• Ensure the implementation of robust error handling, logging mechanisms, and performance tuning
• Work with teammates to support various development activities and tasks

Data Modeling and Warehousing

• Apply expertise in dimensional data modeling, including star and snowflake schemas, to optimize data warehouses.
• Develop scalable ETL solutions in line with modern data warehousing principles.
• Handle data quality assurance and ensure clarity in ETL workflows for seamless understanding at first sight.

Testing, Debugging, and Release Management

• Conduct extensive unit testing and performance optimization for ETL processes.
• Debug data issues and resolve anomalies effectively.
• Prepare ETL solutions for deployment, coordinating closely with the release teams.

Monitoring and Production Support

• Implement automated monitoring and alerting mechanisms for ETL workflows.
• Provide Level 3 production support, identifying and resolving complex issues promptly.
• Conduct root cause analysis to implement sustainable solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code, in alignment with team/business priorities

Overall

• Operate independently and collaboratively on multiple project tasks (across waterfall, agile and hybrid delivery)
• Produce application artifacts and documentation per team needs and for SDLC, Agile, DevOps governance and audit requirements
• Participate in all phases of discovery, requirements gathering, design, project planning, execution, testing/QA, maintenance, and continuous support (DevOps)
• Meet today's needs with the potential to scale or adapt to the needs of the future, with new emerging technologies

Minimum Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent
• 5+ years of software and/or data engineering/development experience
• Demonstrated experience and ability to translate business concepts into technical requirements
• Excellent communication skills, can do attitude, with the ability to drive to success in both independent and group projects
• Strong leadership, decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
• Proactively addresses issues, looks for opportunities to improve and communicate effectively
• Direct experience and expertise using Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) and/or Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) tool/s, and implementing software applications using these tools
• Deep understanding of software development best practices and secure coding principles
• Familiarity with AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
• Familiarity with web services / microservices / APIs
• Experience with Atlassian suite, mainly JIRA and Confluence
• Significant experience with various AGILE methodologies, and some exposure to DevOps
• A passion for continuous learning and a desire to share business and technical knowledge

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of consultancy experience working directly with stakeholders/ clients
• Previous experience as a domain, squad, and/or technical team lead or desire to work toward that type of role
• Experience using Informatica PowerCenter, Power Exchange, Data Transformation/DT (relies heavily on XML)
• Experience with SQL on multiple DBMS technologies, such as MS SQL Server, Teradata and Vertica
• Experience working in a DevOps environment
• Experience leveraging Confluence and/or Lucid Charts to create designs and documentation
• Experience with industry standard file layout specifically exposure to ACCORD and DTCC standard feeds
• Experience in producer/distributor compensation (COM), sales recognition programs, policy level networking (FAR, POV, NB)
• Cloud migration and/or modernization experience
