Oracle DB

We are seeking a highly skilled Application DBA to take ownership of Oracle database operations within a high-performance environment. Your primary focus will be ensuring optimal performance, stability, and scalability for a Java-based application processing a very large volume of individual transactions. This role is deeply technical and requires hands-on experience with Oracle performance tuning, SQL optimization, and Data Warehouse environments. 

• You will work closely with development teams to refine database access patterns, improve query efficiency, and support architectural decisions. Performance tuning will be a core responsibility, including SQL/PLSQL optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning models, and JVM-interaction analysis for high-throughput systems.
• You will be responsible for monitoring, backup and recovery strategies, capacity planning, and ensuring compliance with security and high-availability standards (Oracle RAC, Data Guard). A key aspect of the role also includes analyzing and optimizing the existing Data Warehouse architecture to support long-term performance improvements.
• You will join an experienced, collaborative team where your expertise will contribute directly to the stability and growth of a mission-critical system. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex database challenges, influence technical direction, and support large-scale enterprise applications.

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases in a high-performance and 24/7 available environment.
• Analyze and improve database performance for a Java-based application with a very high number of individual transactions.
• Implement tuning measures (SQL, PL/SQL, indexing,  ETL processes, data models and partitioning strategies).
• Monitor and ensure database availability, scalability, and stability.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database access and query performance.
• Conduct capacity planning and performance testing.
• Ensure backup, recovery, and security concepts are in place.
• Analyze and optimize the existing Data Warehouse architecture to ensure high performance.
• Document architecture, processes, and optimization measures.

• Experience on  Oracle DB and administering Data Warehouse systems (Oracle).
• Expert knowledge in performance tuning and optimization (e.G. SQL, indexing strategies).
• Experience with Java-based applications and their database interactions.
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, partitioning, and high availability.
• Proficiency with monitoring tools and performance analysis (e.g., TOAD).
• Understanding of transaction management and large data volumes.
• Strong communication skills and team orientation.
• Experience with ETL tools and reporting systems.  
• Fluent English language skills
