C++ Software developer

We are looking for a Software Developer to join our Services team for our client, a multinational company in the Energy sector, contributing to the development of advanced software solutions in the Energy domain. The developer will play a key role in implementing and maintaining optimization-based features for Electricity Market Management Systems (MMS), with a specific focus on Flow-Based Market Coupling (FBMC).

Responsibilities (What you will do):

● Collaborate with business experts and product teams to refine requirements and contribute to the detailed design of flow-based market feature.

● Implement software components and enhancements related to flow-based and other electricity market functionalities.

● Contribute to the end-to-end development cycle: design, coding, debugging, testing, integration, and documentation.

● Develop and maintain automated regression and unit tests to ensure reliability and maintainability of the application.

● Perform technical analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of software defects.

● Ensure alignment with software quality standards and best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

● Collaborate effectively within a distributed Agile development environment, following DevOps principles and continuous integration practices.

Your Profile (Skills):

● Proficiency in C++ programming. Additional experience in modern programming languages such as Python is highly valued.

● Strong foundation in optimization algorithms and their applications, particularly in mathematical modeling and computational problem-solving.

● Experience working in Linux-based development environments, including command-line tools and shell scripting.

● Experience in implementing and maintaining software solutions in the energy or optimization domain, preferably as part of a collaborative development team.

● Experience with DevOps and Agile methodology.

● Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub, test automation frameworks, and continuous integration systems.

● Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

● Background in mathematical optimization algorithms.

● Familiarity with Docker, including containerized deployment and service orchestration, is a plus.

● Process- and methodology-oriented mindset.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Fluency in English is mandatory.
