Purchasing Specialist

As a Project Purchaser within the Innovation Process, you will play a crucial role in developing new or redesigning ifm products. You will be an active member of the cross-functional project team, responsible for all project-related purchasing activities of materials, services, and supplies until the Start-of-Production.

This role involves close interaction with multiple functional disciplines (engineering, quality, logistics, series purchasing, etc.) and acts across all material groups (PCBA, machined parts, plastic injection molded parts and tools, electronic components etc.) across different geographies, primarily Romania, Germany, and the USA.

You will use your
experience
to contribute with tasks like:

  • Accompany projects (regardless of location) within the innovation process with regard to all purchasing-specific issues and process them independently to meet project timelines, target costs and quality objectives;
  • Collaborate closely with product management, product development, quality, planning, suppliers/manufacturers, and the central purchasing organization across locations and internationally;
  • Engage in early supplier involvement: Conduct requests for quotations; analyze, compare, and document quotations; negotiate prices to reach target costs; negotiate project-specific agreements and contracts in coordination with central purchasing;
  • Prepare, award and administer complex purchase orders – depending on the purchasing volume, possibly within the sourcing committee;
  • Maintain purchasing-specific project data on n article basis, including documentation and master data in SAP;
  • Manage and utilize project-and purchasing-specific software tools (ifm-Cockpit, Qlik, Jaggaer);
  • Handle order processing and ensure deadlines are met to adhere to the project schedule;
  • Continuously ensure the supply of purchased parts during the project and at the start of series production.

We are looking for a colleague with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering;
  • Minim 3 years of experience in relevant purchasing position;
  • SAP, MS Office;
  • Basic technical understanding of electronics and mechanics;
  • Very good communication, negotiation skills and problem solving.

English
is mandatory because you will work with an international team,
and German desirable
