Overview

We are looking for a C#/.NET Engineer to rewrite an existing Java-based authentication and authorization codebase into C# and .NET. The project focuses on integrating with Azure services, ensuring secure and performant access control and delivering assets based on user authorization.

The work will be carried out independently and is primarily backend-oriented, with no front-end components. The initial goal is to deliver a proof-of-concept, with potential for further development phases.

Responsibilities:

  • Rewrite an existing Java authentication and authorization library into C#/.NET.
  • Implement and validate JWT-based access control via Azure Functions.
  • Integrate with Azure Blob Storage for secure asset delivery.
  • Handle distributed caching (Redis or equivalent) and basic PostgreSQL lookups.
  • Contribute to infrastructure scalability discussions.
  • Work on serverless integrations for CDN delivery (Azure Front Door or similar).
  • Develop integration tests to validate functionality and authorization logic.
  • Collaborate with domain experts for in-house authentication logic (no third-party tools).
  • Optionally contribute to IaC scripts using Bicep or Terraform (not mandatory).

Requirements:

  • Strong C# and .NET development experience.
  • Solid understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Experience with Azure services, particularly Azure Functions and Azure Blob Storage.
  • Ability to read and interpret Java code.
  • Experience with distributed caching (e.g., Redis).
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions for CI/CD.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Azure Front Door or CDN configurations.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform).
  • Exposure to PostgreSQL databases (light lookup/query work).
