Job Description

The Role

The Development Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of renewable energy projects, from site scouting to Ready to Build stage. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with Romanian and EU regulatory requirements, and driving the successful delivery of projects.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage the development process up to ready-to-build authorizations for PV, BESS and wind projects
  • Carry-out preliminary technical/environmental assessments for projects acquisition.
  • Define project development process, including timeline, budget, cash flows and all the necessary reports

  • Monitor projects design, supervising engineering consultants, ensuring compliance with the permitting, environmental and construction requirements

  • Cooperate with the transmission/distribution operators of the electricity grid and follow the relevant authorization procedures required for the electrical connection

  • Oversee the execution of project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to industry standards and best practices
  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal, etc.) and external stakeholders (government agencies, contractors, suppliers, etc.)
  • Prepare and present project progress reports to senior management and stakeholders
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient culture and support junior resources as an active member of the development team

Education and Skills:

  • Engineering degree (Electrical Engineering, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of legal and administrative processes in Romania
  • 2+ years of experience as a Development Project Manager in renewable energy, specifically PV/Wind/BESS projects
  • High communication and negotiation skills

  • Knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken
