Software and System Test Engineer

Job Description:

Manpower Group Romania, on behalf of our partner, a prestigious multinational company, delivering advanced solutions for a secure and safer world, seeking an experienced Software and System Test Engineer to join cutting-edge defense projects in the fields of armored vehicles, command and control systems, weapon systems, simulators, and more. The role involves end-to-end testing of integrated hardware-software systems, working closely with development, engineering, and project management teams, and participating in system integration activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, write, and execute test documentation (STP, STD, STR)
  2. Perform manual and automated testing of integrated systems
  3. Set up and maintain test environments
  4. Analyze issues (including code level investigations and high-level debug) , open bug reports, and follow up on resolutions
  5. Collaborate with development, engineering, and product teams
  6. Participate in system integration at customer sites in Romania and abroad

Requirements:

  1. B.Sc. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  2. At least 2 years of experience in software/system testing
  3. Experience writing effective database queries (SQL or equivalent) Experience with military/operational systems – strong advantage
  4. Familiarity with test and bug management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
  5. High-level English – speaking, reading, and writing
  6. Willingness to travel internationally for various assignments

Additional Advantages:

  1. Experience testing embedded hardware-software systems
  2. Familiarity with mechanical and electro-mechanical systems (e.g., turrets, stabilization systems, sensors)
  3. Experience with weapon systems, armored vehicles, or simulators
  4. Understanding of multi-disciplinary system integration processes
  5. Field testing experience, including work in outdoor/operational environments
  6. Ability to read technical drawings and system diagrams
  7. Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
  8. Technical military background – significant advantage
  9. Experience in developing testing tools (e.g., simulators, utility scripts) - an advantage.
