Responsibilities
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with advanced JasperReports experience to join a major transformation initiative in the financial services sector. The role involves developing and enhancing complex reporting components, integrating them with backend systems, and supporting data migration activities as part of a broader digital modernization program. This position requires solid hands-on Java expertise and deep familiarity with JasperReports (or similar Java-based reporting frameworks). Experience in regulated environments such as banking, asset management, or financial operations is a strong advantage.

  • Design, develop, and maintain JasperReports templates (JRXML), including subreports, complex layouts, and parameterized reports.
  • Implement and optimize backend logic in Java for data extraction, report generation, and processing workflows.
  • Integrate reporting modules into enterprise applications, APIs, and database systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data accuracy, performance, formatting, and rendering of reports.
  • Contribute to data migration activities, including data mapping, transformation, validation, and report-level verification.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate regulatory, operational, and financial reporting needs into technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, audit requirements, and best practices used in the financial industry.
  • Support QA teams with test scenarios, sample output, and validation logic.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Java development (Java 8 or newer).

  • Extensive hands-on experience with JasperReports, including:

  • JRXML design

  • iReport / Jaspersoft Studio
  • Multi-data-source handling

  • PDF, Excel, and high-volume output generation

  • Strong proficiency in SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).

  • Experience integrating Java applications with REST/SOAP services.
  • Solid understanding of application architecture, performance optimization, and debugging.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with other reporting/BI tools (BIRT, Pentaho, Crystal Reports integrations).
  • Background in financial services (banking operations, asset servicing, payments, or fund administration).
  • Experience with data migration projects (ETL, validation frameworks, mapping rules).
  • Knowledge of Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, Maven/Gradle.
  • Familiarity with DevOps pipelines (Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
