We are seeking a Data Engineer Team Lead to join our dynamic Tech team. The ideal candidate is an inspirational team lead, problem-solving oriented with strong analytical thinking. You will be managing the upscaling of a data engineering team to support the development of data pipelines amongst our IT and Data products and act as a local coordinator to ensure that our best practices are applied.
Under the responsibility of the Head of Data Platform, your mission will be to :
- Supervise, coordinate and plan data engineers activities within the data engineering CoE, to ensure their availability within the various products / areas they would be serving.
- Provide technical guidance, teach best practices and ensure they are applied by managing the ramp-up of data engineering teams on central guidelines.
- Build training paths and partnerships with schools to create a local data academy.
- Enforce documentation of data artefacts (code, diagrams, wiki-like documentation) to secure the comprehensiveness of the team's work.
- Collaborate by participating to workshops or rituals (design sessions, PI plannings, sprint reviews, dailys).
Experience :
- 10 years of experience as a data engineer, data oriented mindset
- 3 years of experience in coaching or managing a team of developers (or alike profiles)
- Proven experience in development and maintenance of data pipelines, preferably in agile projects (Scrum and/or Kanban)
- Proven experience with Databricks and/or Palantir Foundry is wished.
- Experience in (Re)insurance industry and / or Financial Services is wished.
Technical Skills :
- Strong level in Python, Pyspark and SQL, ability to develop data pipelines under various platform using good practices such as parallelization, distributing programing techniques, decisional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, change data capture management…
- Good knowledge of CI / CD pipelines and Gitflows best practices
- Good knowledge of REST API development
- Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g. Power BI) is whished

Education :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software or computer engineering, applied math, physics, statistics, or a related field or equivalent experience
