Senior Backend Developer - Game Engine/Platform Infrastructure (Remote):

We are a team of expert developers with the goal of creating the next generation of

systems that will power gaming and game development. We are looking for passionate

senior backend engineers to join our team and help us build the server

infrastructure, cloud services, and DevOps systems for our game engine platform.

Our long-term vision includes modernizing existing legacy game development systems,

bridging Web and runtime applications into a single native client, minimizing

security risks for users and maximizing performance gains. You will be responsible

for creating scalable backend services that power multiplayer systems, asset

pipelines, build systems, and developer workflows.

Success of the application depends mostly on your git projects that you can display

as evidence of in depth knowledge of distributed systems, scalable backend

architectures, and infrastructure automation.

Requirements:

  • Ability to leverage agentic AI coding workflows.

  • Expert in with focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and data modeling for high-throughput systems.

  • Proficiency with AWS services and infrastructure design (EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS).

  • Solid DevOps skills: CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation).

  • Ability to design and implement real-time APIs, job queues, and microservices architectures.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating on high-level goals in a small team of experts.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with game backend services (matchmaking, leaderboards, player data, telemetry).

  • Knowledge of WebSocket/WebRTC for real-time communication.

  • Experience with CDN configuration and asset delivery optimization.

  • Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).

  • Understanding of security best practices and authentication systems (OAuth, JWT).

  • Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, SQS) and event-driven architectures.

  • Background in build systems, artifact management, or developer tooling

infrastructure.
