We are looking for:

We are seeking a
COBOL Developer
to join our team and support our ongoing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing existing COBOL applications. You will work closely with business analysts and technical teams to
resolve incidents
,
analyze and troubleshoot issues
, and
implement small change requests
in accordance with our established development standards and best practices.

What you will do:

  • Develop, test, and implement applications using Cobol and CLP languages on the AS/400 platform.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
  • Maintain and optimize existing applications to ensure their performance, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of software solutions and improve development processes.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide user support, ensuring that all problems are promptly and efficiently addressed.
  • Document processes, changes made to applications and implemented technical solutions.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to identify and implement innovative solutions.

What you must have:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in AS400 platform and projects developments using Cobol/CLP.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases, especially DB2 for AS400
  • Knowledge of the MQ framework
  • Knowledge of the AS-400 scheduler
  • Knowledge of CQS and Leasing products (nice to have)
  • Problem-solving with the ability to handle technical issues.

L
anguage Skills:

  • Perfect command of Italian
  • Good working knowledge of technical English (able to understand a conversation and interact in this language within the context of the assignment)
