Job Description
We are currently seeking a Principal Frontend Engineer to take ownership and drive the long-term technical and architectural vision for the UI. As a Principal Frontend Engineer at Sage, you will leverage your software development expertise to complete key assignments and ensure roadmap is clearly communicated across all functions, helping the business effectively plan, finance, and execute product evolution.

*** Please note that this role is hybrid and will require you to work 3 days a week from our Cluj office. ***

  • Take ownership of the long-term UI architecture vision and strategy, while leading UI projects that drive Sage's growth.
  • Apply deep software architecture expertise to key projects and initiatives.
  • Communicate roadmap across teams to support business planning and execution.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels across product lines and geographies.
  • Share insights and technology trends both internally and externally, while mentoring and guiding developers on UI best practices and technologies.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in frontend development and architecture, with a preference for experience in large-scale applications.
  • Strong expertise in frontend technologies, including but not limited to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (Vanilla and modern frameworks).
  • Strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, their state management tools, and integration with legacy frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of backend communication, including RESTful APIs and other protocols.
  • Ability to identify and resolve UI performance bottlenecks using techniques like rendering optimization, code splitting, and lazy loading.
  • Familiarity with UX principles.
