The Software Engineering Chapter Lead ensures technical excellence, alignment of best practices, and continuous improvement across multiple teams and business verticals. This role shapes engineering standards, drives cross-functional collaboration, and supports delivery teams with guidance and expert input. The focus is on consistently applying technical, quality, and analytical practices to drive efficiency and innovation in product delivery, specifically in the software engineering area.

Key Responsibilities:

Competency Alignment and Best Practices:

• Design, implement, and maintain engineering best practices across domains, encouraging knowledge sharing.
• Drive technical maturity through defined metrics and best practices.
• Embed modern software development methodologies

Technical Leadership and Innovation:

• Act as a technical authority, shaping new products and refining existing systems, aligning technical and business objectives.
• Champion the integration of
  AI and machine learning solutions
  into our products and internal tools.
• Identify and implement innovative tools and technologies.

Team Development and Performance Management:

• Initiate team performance evaluations and skill assessments.
• Facilitate advanced training programs and workshops including AI, architecture patterns etc.
• Mentor engineering talent and support career development paths.

Resource Allocation and Delivery Team Support:

• Collaborate with Delivery Directors for optimal resource allocation.
• Oversee rotation and allocation of engineers to optimize talent alignment and ensure competencies are aligned with delivery objectives.

Recruitment, Hiring, and Professional Expectations:

• Standardize hiring practices across technical domains.
• Guide onboarding, ensuring rapid integration and productivity of new hires.
• Promote a high-performance engineering culture with clear expectations.

Delivery Oversight and Quality Assurance:

• Support delivery teams with guidance on technical execution and quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to the Delivery Operating Model (DOM).
• Work with third-party suppliers to meet quality standards.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Alignment:

• Collaborate with Delivery Directors and other departments to integrate engineering priorities.
• Partner with Business lines, Security, Core Banking, Data, and Infrastructure teams for cohesive strategy and delivery.
• Promote interdisciplinary initiatives to enhance alignment and innovation.

Governance and Continuous Improvement:

• Establish and monitor execution metrics o identify improvement areas.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts to align with evolving business needs.

To perform in this role, we would like you to have:

• Education:
  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
  10+ years in software engineering/QA/software design, with 4+ years in a leadership position. Experience in a regulated environment like banking is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
  Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, DevOps principles, and relevant tools and technologies. Experience with performance metrics and KPIs.
• Leadership and Collaboration:
  Proven ability to mentor and develop technical talent, excellent communication skills, and strategic decision-making abilities.
• Problem-Solving:
  Strong analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Adaptability:
  Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and new challenges.
• Teamwork:
  Ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
• Conflict Resolution:
  Skilled in mediating conflicts and facilitating constructive discussions.
