About the Role

We take a highly pragmatic approach to engineering. Curiosity drives us, but we don't chase trends. Instead, we choose what is stable, scalable, and enables rapid iteration — architecture that supports long-term velocity rather than short-term novelty.

Backend Stack

  • Laravel — a proven, highly productive framework that gives us reliability and velocity when building core services
  • Python — ideal for asynchronous workloads and deeply integrated into our machine learning ecosystem

Frontend Stack

  • Vue — loved for its intuitive single-file components and clear syntax
  • Tailwind — bringing fast, consistent, effortless styling to our UI layer

You'll work on the systems that power:

  • High-volume telephony and messaging pipelines
  • Real-time conversational AI orchestration
  • Distributed services for low-latency call handling
  • Large-scale conversational data processing
  • A fast-evolving sales automation and intelligence layer

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who can architect core systems, improve reliability at scale, and help define engineering standards as our platform grows globally.

What You'll Do
  • Own and evolve core backend services built in Laravel and/or Python
  • Architect scalable, fault-tolerant systems that power real-time voice interactions
  • Lead technical decisions across APIs, event pipelines, storage layers, and distributed systems
  • Improve performance and reliability across high-volume backend workloads
  • Collaborate with AI, product, and frontend teams to ship impactful features quickly
  • Implement engineering best practices, observability improvements, and robust deployment workflows
  • Play a central role in shaping the platform's technical direction as the team scales
Who You Are
Expertise in Python or Laravel

You are fully confident designing, building, and maintaining production systems using either Python or Laravel, with deep expertise in at least one of these ecosystems.

Senior experience (8+ years)

You bring at least eight years of hands-on backend engineering experience, having:

  • Owned complex projects end-to-end
  • Made thoughtful architectural decisions
  • Built and supported production systems at scale
  • Operated in environments where reliability and performance truly matter
Additional qualities we value:
  • Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous processing, or event-driven architectures
  • Strong grasp of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and monitoring/observability
  • Ability to balance rapid execution with clean, maintainable engineering
  • Comfort working in high-ownership, high-autonomy environments

Bonus experience:

  • Telephony (SIP, WebRTC, CPaaS platforms)
  • Large-scale streaming or messaging pipelines
  • ML/AI model orchestration in production
