HSE Officer | Sweden
Location:
Sweden (Site-based)
Contract:
12 months (possible extension) | 5-day week
Shift:
Night shift —
1:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Sector:
Data Centre Construction
What we are looking for:
If you're the kind of person who spots what
could
go wrong before it does, this role has your name on it.
We're looking for a proactive
HSE Officer
to oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance on a large-scale data centre project in Sweden. You'll play a key role during night operations, ensuring standards don't drop when the sun goes down.
This is a hands-on, site-based role where your presence, judgement, and leadership genuinely matter.
Your Day-to-Night Responsibilities
- Enforce and maintain HSE standards across all night-shift site activities.
- Carry out site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits — and follow through on actions.
- Provide clear, practical HSE guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
- Monitor high-risk activities and intervene when standards slip (and they will).
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, making sure lessons are actually learned.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and permits — always audit-ready.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings tailored to night operations.
- Ensure compliance with Swedish HSE legislation and project requirements.
What You Bring
- Proven experience as an
HSE Officer
(or similar) on construction or industrial projects. - Solid understanding of HSE legislation and best practices.
- Comfortable working
night shifts
and operating independently on site. - Clear communicator with strong English skills (Swedish is a plus, not a blocker).
- Practical, calm, and assertive — you influence people, you don't just police them.
- Strong attention to detail with a no-nonsense approach to safety.
Why Join
- Be part of a flagship data centre project in one of Europe's fastest-growing markets.
- Stable 12-month contract with potential extension.
- Work within an international, professional site team that takes safety seriously.
- Real responsibility and visibility — this isn't a box-ticking role.
- Competitive package with support for travel and accommodation.
