Webuild Group
is looking for a
Technical Manager
(Responsabile dei Servizi Tecnici) for a
railway project in Romania
.

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the
Project Manager
, the candidate will be responsible for the
engineering services
of a
56+ km railway line
. As the head of the
Technical Office
, key responsibilities include:

  • Defining the
    scope of work
    for external services (engineering, geotechnical investigations, topography, monitoring, etc.) in agreement with the Project Management.
  • Coordinating
    a technical team of
    professionals
    , including external designers and consultants, engineers, draftsmen, lab technicians, surveyors, and quantity surveyors.
  • Managing the
    work schedule
    (design, procurement, construction, etc.) and preparing progress reports.
  • Managing the
    Elementary
    Quantities
    of the project
    (BOQ)
    according to company procedure
  • Reviewing
    external design studies
    to ensure
    technical accuracy
    and compliance with specifications.
  • Overseeing the preparation of
    detailed design documents
    and managing their
    approval process
    with Project Management.
  • Ensuring the development of
    temporary works designs
    (e.g., access roads, platforms for installations),
    construction methods
    and
    construction drawings
    based on the
    approved design
    .
  • Proposing
    project improvements, modifications, or variations
    , preparing the necessary technical and financial documentation for client approval.
  • Producing documentation required to obtain
    technical and administrative permits
    for project execution.
  • Maintaining a
    modifications/approvals register
    and ensuring updates to construction drawings.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to produce
    shop drawings
    and ensure
    alignment with execution plans
    .
  • Preparing or approving
    technical specifications and procurement documents
    for
    supplies and subcontracting
    .
  • Handling
    technical discussions
    and maintaining
    client relationships
    on technical matters.
  • Ensuring compliance with
    quality standards (QAS Manual)
    and company procedures.
  • Supporting
    interactions with public authorities
    and relevant stakeholders.
  • Managing
    issue resolution for project interferences
    .
  • Supervising and coordinating
    technical reporting activities
    .

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in
    Civil Engineering or a related field
    .
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience
    as a
    Technical Office Manager
    or in a similar role on construction sites.
  • Fluent in English
    .
  • Expertise in railway construction techniques
    and prior experience in
    Design & Build projects
    .
