Data Engineer

FluidAI Medical is at the forefront of integrating data, technology, and healthcare to improve patient outcomes. Our platform generates rich, high-frequency clinical and operational data, and we are expanding our team to include a
Data Engineer
who can build robust data pipelines, enable and perform analytics, and translate complex data into actionable insights that support both clinical and business decision-making.

This role is ideal for a hands-on Data Engineer with strong
Python and SQL skills
, a solid foundation in
data engineering
, and the ability to build
analytics tools, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting solutions
. Experience working with
clinical or medical data
is highly preferred.

This position is remote but requires travel across the Middle East to collaborate with the FluidAI team and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines that ingest, process, and transform data from multiple sources (devices, applications, databases, and external systems).
  • Write clean, efficient, and production-grade
    Python
    code for data processing, automation, and analytics workflows.
  • Develop and optimize complex
    SQL
    queries and data models to support analytics, reporting, and downstream applications.
  • Build and maintain
    analytics tools
    , dashboards, and KPI frameworks that provide clear visibility into product performance, clinical outcomes, and business metrics.
  • Partner with product, clinical, operations, and leadership teams to define key metrics, translate business and clinical questions into data requirements, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Apply strong analytical thinking to explore datasets, identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement across the organization.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability through validation checks, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Support experimentation, analysis, and reporting for pilots, deployments, and clinical studies where applicable.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for data pipelines, data models, KPIs, and analytics definitions to ensure alignment and scalability.
  • Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies, contributing to roadmap planning and prioritization from a data perspective.
  • Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and ML teams to enable data access and analytics across the full technology stack.
  • Follow best practices around data security, privacy, and compliance, especially when working with sensitive clinical and medical data.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience as a
    Data Engineer
    , Analytics Engineer, or similar role.
  • High proficiency in
    Python
    for data engineering, analytics, and data processing workflows.
  • Advanced
    SQL
    skills, including complex joins, window functions, performance optimization, and data modeling.
  • Experience working with
    cloud-based data warehousing and analytics platforms
    , such as
    Databricks, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift
    , or similar technologies.
  • Experience with
    on-premise or hybrid data warehousing solutions
    , including technologies from
    Oracle, Microsoft (SQL Server, Azure Synapse), or comparable enterprise data platforms
    .
  • Proven experience building
    dashboards, KPIs, and analytics solutions
    using BI or analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Metabase, Superset, or similar).
  • Strong business and general analytics skills, with the ability to translate data into insights and recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience designing
    data models and analytics layers
    that support scalable reporting and self-serve analytics.
  • Experience working with
    time-series, sensor, operational, or high-volume datasets
    is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience working with
    clinical, medical, or healthcare data
    is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks, APIs, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data orchestration tools is a plus.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a strong plus. Ability to communicate insights clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Must be able and willing to
    travel to Saudi Arabia for work, including extended periods of time
    .
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional, fast-paced, and collaborative environments.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a bias toward impact, ownership, and continuous improvement.
