Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced
Finance Manager or Deputy Finance Manager
to oversee the financial operations of our large-scale international construction projects in Romania.

This position will be
based in Bucharest
, with periodic visits to project sites as needed; however, it does
not
require full-time on-site presence.

The ideal candidate will have solid expertise in
Romanian tax legislation, accounting standards, and statutory compliance
. This role plays a key leadership function in ensuring financial accuracy, internal control, and full compliance across all project-related financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial operations and accounting processes
  • Ensure full compliance with Romanian tax, accounting, and statutory obligations
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
  • Monitor project cost structures, budgets, and expenditures
  • Manage subcontractor payments, invoice cycles, IPC control, and reconciliations
  • Support and validate POC (Percentage of Completion) calculations
  • Coordinate project financing, cash flow planning, and payment schedules
  • Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and financial institutions
  • Provide guidance and leadership to project finance teams
  • Strengthen internal control systems, risk management, and compliance
  • Work closely with HQ Finance, Project Management, and Procurement teams
  • Contribute to ERP finance modules (IFS experience is a plus)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields
  • 7–12 years
    of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or project financial management
  • Experience in the
    construction or infrastructure sector
    is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Romanian tax law, accounting standards, and statutory reporting
  • Advanced level of English
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and planning capabilities
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and results-driven
  • Ability to work in a multi-project environment with flexibility for travel
