ABOUT THE TEAM

Welcome to the Payroll team, a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team within the heart of Tide. Our mission is to solve one of the biggest sources of anxiety for small business owners by building a payroll product that is effortless, intuitive, and reliable. We are a deeply product-minded group of engineers, designers, and product managers who own our roadmap and believe that craftsmanship, speed, and small details make all the difference. You'll be joining a team that pioneered the UK's first mobile payroll and is now tackling an ambitious roadmap of complex, new challenges.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Craft exceptional experiences: Go beyond user stories to build elegant, robust, and scalable solutions that deliver tangible value to our members. You won't just implement designs; you'll bring them to life.
• Solve meaningful problems: Dive into complex challenges on our ambitious product roadmap, contributing to brand-new features from the ground up and owning your work from concept to deployment.
• Champion the craft: Elevate the entire team by actively mentoring colleagues through pair programming, constructive code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions. You'll help set the bar for quality and execution.
• Embrace continuous growth: We believe in mastery. You'll be encouraged to experiment with new technologies, deepen your expertise, and share your discoveries with the team as we learn and grow together.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

• A passion for the front-end: You have strong, well-considered opinions on what it takes to build sleek, high-performance user interfaces and have shipped complex web apps that prove it.
• A proven track record: You bring 5+ years of professional web development experience, demonstrating a history of building and maintaining high-quality products.
• Deep expertise in our stack: You have solid, hands-on experience with Angular 2+ and a strong command of reactive programming with RxJS and state management with NgRx. (Experience with React is a plus).
• A commitment to quality: You believe quality is built-in, not bolted on. You have a passion for automation and solid experience writing testable code with frameworks like Jest and Cypress.
• A product-focused mindset: You thrive in small, autonomous, agile teams and are passionate about building great products that customers love.
• Mastery of the fundamentals: Your expertise is built on a strong foundation of Semantic HTML, modern CSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).

OUR TECH STACK (You don't have to excel in all, but willing to learn them):

• Angular 15+ (including NgRx and Angular Material) and React
• Nrwl Nx to manage them as mono repo
• Storybook as live components documentation
• , NestJs and PostgreSQL to power up the BFF middleware
• EKS/Kubernetes used by the Cloud team to run the platform
• Contentful to provide some dynamic content to the apps
• DataDog, SonarCloud, Semgrep, LaunchDarkly, and Segment to help us safely track, monitor and deploy
• GitHub with GitHub actions to power the Cl/CD pipelines (new joiners are encouraged to have something deployed to production in their first 2 weeks)
