Position Summery: As a project manager in the HSC Local Government team you will take full accountability for managing projects of varying types and sizes involving one or many of our HSC software products, delivered from within the Professional Services part of the business. This role requires exceptional adaptability to manage our evolving project requirements while also maintaining strong commercial focus on revenue targets and project profitability. You will work directly with HSC Local Government customers to plan, coordinate and deliver our implementation projects, following our PM playbook and AIMS Methodology. This role would suit an experienced project management professional who thrives in dynamic environments, takes complete ownership of project outcomes, and can navigate complex stakeholder relationships while delivering commercially successful results. Key accountabilities and responsibilities: Project Leadership & Accountability
• Take complete ownership of project success from handover to delivery, including full responsibility for outcomes, timelines, and customer satisfaction
• Define project requirements, manage stakeholder agreements and ensure alignment with business objectives across multiple parallel projects
• Drive decision-making when faced with ambiguous or changing requirements, adapting delivery approaches without compromising quality or commercial objectives Risk Management & Problem Resolution
• Proactively identify, assess and mitigate project risks before they impact delivery, maintaining comprehensive risk registers and contingency plans
• Lead rapid resolution of unexpected issues and scope changes
• Manage project dependencies and compliance with governance frameworks while maintaining project momentum Commercial Awareness & Revenue Delivery
• Maximize customer value while protecting project margins, balancing scope creep against commercial opportunities
• Monitor burn rates, track days against rollout plans, and make real-time decisions to optimize project profitability
• Think creatively about the customer journey to identify additional revenue opportunities within project scope Stakeholder Management & Communication
• Provide clear, regular reporting on progress, budget, risks and commercial performance to internal and external stakeholders
• Lead weekly Project Team meetings, maintaining transparent communication channels and ensuring timely sign-offs
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships that drive satisfaction and future business opportunities Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
• Provide leadership and guidance to both internal and customer project teams
• Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across all project activities
• Ensure all communication is fully documented in line with project implementation methodology Skills and Experience:
• Proven track record implementing and managing change programs and projects for SaaS providers, with demonstrated full project accountability
• Experience managing unscripted or agile delivery scenarios where requirements evolve during project execution
• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to balance customer needs with profitability requirements
• Sufficient technical ability to understand proposed solutions and translate these into clear customer visions
• Experience in program/project management, consultancy, or transformation with focus on best practices
• Understanding of Local Government sector requirements (preferred but not essential)
• Exceptional accountability mindset with proven ability to take ownership of complex, high-risk projects
• Strong ability to influence experienced implementation consultants and drive solutions through to resolution
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Project Management qualifications (PRINCE2, PMP or similar) preferred but not essential
• Proactive, goal-oriented approach with strong delivery focus and ability to work at pace
• Excellent risk management capabilities with experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills What are we all about?
