Tasks

Client's ecommerce platform is a custom headless Shopify architecture built with React Router v7 (formerly Remix), , and TypeScript, organized in a Turborepo monorepo and deployed on Vercel. The system integrates Shopify, Builder. io, and a network of custom Node-based microservices that coordinate data from Salsify (PIM), HubSpot, and internal event pipelines. Multiple custom Shopify apps (admin, checkout UI extensions, functions) extend core capabilities, including advanced bundling logic and dynamic draft order workflows.

Requirements
  • Deep Shopify experience — building against Admin, Storefront, Functions, and Checkout UI Extension APIs; understanding of platform constraints and best practices for scalable workarounds
  • Advanced React / Remix / proficiency, with a strong understanding of SSR, routing, and composable architecture
  • Full-stack TypeScript expertise, including typing complex data models and designing maintainable shared packages across a monorepo
  • Microservices & API integration — designing, deploying, and consuming Node-based services to orchestrate data and events between systems (Shopify, Salsify, HubSpot, Builder. io)
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset — able to reason about architecture, data flow, and the impact of design decisions across services
  • Performance and reliability focus — experience with caching, code splitting, async lifecycles, and observability (Sentry)
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub automation (linting, tests, deployments)
  • Comfortable in modern headless commerce environments — familiarity with Builder. io, Vercel, and related tooling
  • Bonus: Experience with event-driven systems, AI-assisted development (Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, etc), or eCommerce data workflows (PIM/ERP)
