Power BI Data Specialist

Cicor Romania is hiring a Data Specialist with experience in Power BI, capable of developing interactive dashboards, optimizing data models and providing analytical support to business teams. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and maintain data models, schemas, and warehouse architectures to support BI solutions.
• Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and backend scripts to support BI reporting needs.
• Support ETL processes, ensuring proper data integration, transformation, and quality.
• Assist in integrating Power BI with other systems and data sources, including APIs and cloud platforms.
• Ensure optimal performance of reports and dashboards by analyzing and optimizing backend queries, data refreshes, and model structures.
• Document data flows, architecture diagrams, report designs, and backend processes for team reference and auditing.
• Understand and work with relational databases, data lakes, and data warehouses for accurate reporting.
• Implement data architecture best practices, including dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and fact/dimension tables.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance measures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years in a similar position
• Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or similar BI role.
• Understanding data visualization best practices and performance optimization in Power BI.
• Experience with data architecture design: dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables.
• Familiarity with ETL processes, data warehousing, and API integrations.
• Experience with data transformation tools (e.g., Power Query, SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) for BI and data architecture solutions.
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages for analytics and automation.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent command in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects.
• Attention to detail and high data accuracy.

Nice to have Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of backend systems and database architecture, including relational and cloud-based databases.
• Proficiency in SQL, DAX, and data modeling concepts.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality monitoring.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end data flows: from source systems to BI consumption.
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance BI solutions.
• Passion for learning new technologies and BI best practices.
